Lots of words to describe why you’d subscribe
I’m an eternally curious nerd obsessed with the invisible world. I find the excitement in boring things and pull back the curtain on what everyone assumes is unknowable. I want to share what I find with you, because it’s way more interesting and relatable than you’d think.
My entire life I’ve been surrounded by people who’ve had a wild cross-section of unexpected experiences and talents. My father was a flamenco guitarist turned Capitol Records songwriter turned general contractor. My godfather built a design studio without being able to read. My partner went from economist to architect to Frank Gehry protégé, and has been a serious classical singer and pianist since childhood. I was the kid building space cities out of Legos while absorbing all of it. I’ve been a construction worker, a cook, a network architect, a security engineer, and a product leader. The people in my life lead philharmonic orchestras, play and sell priceless musical instruments, design the acoustics of the world’s most famous concert halls, and some of them just sell insurance.
I post when I have something interesting to share. Sometimes I’m geeking out explaining what really happens when you click a link, sometimes I’m telling a story about someone in my life who taught me something I didn’t expect. Occasionally I’ll give you pro tips on fried chicken. I try to be honest about what I don’t know, specific about what I do, and (on a good day) occasionally hilarious about both. 🖖
